Let's celebrate Math by stretching our imaginations and "ruling out" math illiteracy!

What is Pi Day???

"Pi" is the word for the mathematical symbol ∏=3.14.

Pi is used to calculate circumference (distance around a circle) as well as the area (space inside) of a circle.

Pi Day is celebrated across the world and in many schools -- not in Southeast Michigan as much though :<(  Pi Day is an opportunity for youth/families to come together and learn about, explore, and celebrate Pi and math.

March 14th is the official Pi Day (3.14) but, since it is a Sunday, we decided to celebrate it this year on Saturday and will do so for the next 2-3 years.
